Our cat boarding facility is designed to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free environment where every cat feels secure while their humans are away. Caring for animals isn’t just what we do; it’s who we are.


Jeanne Nel has spent the last 24 years immersed in the world of cat hotels and cat boarding, having started her journey at her mom’s cattery. From weekend helper to hands-on manager, Jeanne has been involved in every part of feline care. Her deep understanding of cat behaviour allows her to gently settle even the most anxious cats, ensuring each guest receives individual attention, comfort, and affection.


Werner Nel brings over 12 years of animal-care experience, supported by a strong background in tourism, wildlife, and farm management. His practical approach and genuine love for animals help keep the cat hotel running smoothly, safely, and professionally. From maintaining a peaceful boarding environment to personally checking on each cat, Werner is dedicated to every detail of their well-being.


Together, Jeanne and Werner combine decades of experience in cat boarding and animal care, united by a shared passion for creating a trusted, high-quality cat hotel. For us, this isn’t just a business — it’s a true home away from home where your cat is cared for like family. 

Our Services

Safe & Cozy Accommodations

At Cattery in the Country, we offer spacious, clean, and comfortable luxury suites for your cats. Each suite is designed to provide a safe and relaxing environment, complete with cosy bedding and plenty of room to explore. Our unique facility gives you indoor access to outdoor units. Each unit has its own private garden that consists of a porch & grass.

Personalised Daily Care

Every cat in our care receives personalised attention tailored to their needs. Our experienced staff is dedicated to ensuring your cat’s comfort and happiness, providing playtime, companionship, and daily brushing as required. We treat each cat hotel guest as if they were our own, ensuring a stress-free environment.

Health & Safety First

We prioritise the health and safety of every cat. We require all cats to be up-to-date on vaccinations, deworming, etc. Our facility is regularly cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe haven for your beloved felines during their stay with us. Our facilities include plastic dividers between each unit to ensure that each cat is protected.

Normal medication can be administered when required, but a surcharge will be added for medical procedures such as subcutaneous infusions.

Vaccinations/Inoculations: Against 3-in1 & Rabies as per the agreement, but not within 14 days before entering the cattery accommodation.

Deworming: In the last 3 months before entering the accommodation.

Fleas: Anti-parasite treatment e.g. Revolution. Apply anti-parasite 7 days before your cat comes into the cattery

All cats older than 4 months must be sterilised.

Personalised Updates

Once your kitties are with us, you can request WhatsApp updates as often as you like—we’ll gladly send regular updates to keep you at ease.

Climate Control & Entertainment

At Cattery in the Country, we understand that some cats require extra care. Whether it's special dietary needs or medication administration, we are more than equipped to meet those needs.


We also understand that this is their holiday. Rooms are equipped with heaters for the colder months, but we also have warm water bottles at the ready. Our inhouse entertainment is our luscious courtyard with bird feeders.

Short-Term & Long-Term Cat Boarding

We offer anything from short-term cat boarding to long-term cat boarding and everything in between. If you are looking to emigrate, our cattery is the perfect layover for your furrkids. We will condition your cats to their crates if required for international flights.

Bookings & Cat Hotel Pricing

We offer competitive pricing to make our services accessible. Our cat hotel pricing structure is transparent with no hidden fees, ensuring you know exactly what to expect for your cat's stay. Book your cat's perfect getaway with us today! Our rates include some of the standard Hill's & Royal Canin Dry Food (Optimal Care, Mature 7+, Fit 32, Exigent, Etc). If you require that your cat stay on a specialised diet, you will need to bring the food along - Check with us when enquiring.

We provide a safe and loving environment for your cats while you are away. Our services include comfortable accommodation, daily feeding, brushing, and playtime, ensuring your pet feels secure and cherished.

We prioritise the health and safety of our guests by adhering to strict hygiene protocols, regularly inspecting our facilities, and having a knowledgeable staff trained in feline care and behaviour.

We are open for check-in and check-out by appointment from Monday to Sunday. Please contact us to schedule a convenient time for you and your cat within our open hours.

Absolutely! We encourage potential clients to visit Cattery in the Country. This allows you to see our facilities, meet our staff, and ensure it is the right environment for your cat.

When dropping off your cat, please bring their specialised food, any medications they may need, and a personal item such as a favorite toy or blanket to help them feel at home. Be sure to remember the special item upon your departure.

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or modify your booking, please inform us at least 1 week in advance to avoid any cancellation fees.
